AFTER three years in the pipeline, work on Stafford's new multi- million-pound leisure centre has got under way.

Due to be completed in the spring 2008, Stafford Leisure Centre is predicted to be the jewel in the crown for the county town.

Boasting a 25-metre eight-lane pool and a teaching pool with moveable floor to adjust the depth of water, Stafford Borough Council said it was delighted work has started on the "exciting" development.
