Ex-Rep. Victor Wickersham Of Oklahoma Dies at 82
|
Victor Wickersham, 82, an Oklahoma Democrat who served nine terms
in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1941 to 1965, died March 15
at a hospital in Oklahoma City after a stroke.
Mr. Wickersham also was a former Washington real estate broker
and investor. He opened a real estate sales office in Northwest
Washington after losing a reelection bid in the 1946 Democratic
primary in his congressional district in Southwestern Oklahoma and he
continued as a broker and investor in the Washington area after
regaining the seat in the 1948 elections.
He was defeated for reelection in 1956 after ...
