MEMBERS of a karate club gave their rivals the chop to carry off a haul of medals in the first World Karate Academy National Championships in Stourbridge.

Out of a possible 18 events, Birmingham and Halesowen Shotokan Karate Club members won a total of 24medals, including 12 golds.
