DeMatha Shakes Coolidge, 64-57, Faces Gonzaga Next

Kenny Blakeney scored 22 points, cleared seven rebounds and had six assists to lead fourth-ranked DeMatha past sixth-ranked Coolidge, 64-57, in the first round of the Gonzaga/D.C. Classic last night at American University's Bender Arena.

The undefeated Stags will meet Gonzaga, which beat Dunbar of Baltimore, 74-60, in the second game of last night's doubleheader. The championship game will be played today at 5 p.m. and will be shown live on Home Team Sports.

Inconsistent shooting and Coolidge's tenacious defense kept the game close until the final seconds.
