Proud South Island owner Ray Coupland is poised to punish any
visiting northern pretenders in spring features after another great
day at Riccarton Park yesterday.
Coupland had three winners, Coup Dean, Coup Stravinsky, and
Justine Coup on yesterday's card. He also posted three seconds with
Coup Loch, Coup Biscuit and Coup Taine, and a third placing with Coup
Ray, ending up a day of success for a single owner rarely matched in
modern times.
The most impressive was saved for last when Justine Coup came from
an impossible position in a fast-run 1400m to run down stablemate
