Fingerprint evidence is an established way of proving guilt in
court, but HAYDEN WALLES finds some scientists challenging its
validity.
Forensic science is firmly entrenched in our culture, and with
television programmes such as The X-Files and CSI it has even become
glamorous, but some aspects of the field are under attack.
Even fingerprinting, the epitome of forensic science, has been
losing credibility in the eyes of many experts.
