Tapping into Te Mania

Smoke from the spit roast fills the air as the black bulls are
herded into the auction ring.
This is one of the country's premier bull sales at the Wilding
family's Te Mania Angus Stud at the spectacularly beautiful Conway
Flat in North Canterbury.
It is a perfect day after a cool start, with razor sharp views
along the coast to the Kaikoura peninsula.
People have packed into the wooden stands around the bull ring,
but many of the 300 or so who have turned up cannot find a seat.
As well as a premier bull sale, it is obviously a top event on the
