Young Christchurch United midfielder Luke James has received a
late call-up for Canterbury United's Southern Trust National Soccer
league opener against Miramar tomorrow.
James gets his chance at the expense of injured striker Blair
Scadden, who was still hoping he could play until late yesterday.
Player-coach Danny Halligan finally decided not to take any risks
with his leading goal-scorer, who has a hernia.
That puts the striking burden on newcomer Nathan Knox, recently
returned from the United States.
