Business community slams bills

A raft of bills being debated in the run up to Christmas has drawn fire from the business community and opposition parties, who claim the reforms will hurt economic growth and push up business costs.

Legislative activity, which raised the ire of business groups, ranged from a bill which could fine an employer hundreds of thousands of dollars for an employee's stress to bills which they say will allow branches of government to compete with the private sector.
