Christchurch singer Ariana Tikao has made a unique album sung
almost entirely in the Ngai Tahu dialect, MARGARET AGNEW reports.
Local musical talent often feels the need to migrate north to
advance careers (such as the Runga sisters, and Fur Patrol's Julia
Deans), but staying close to the ancestral home is important and
inspirational for Christchurch chanteuse Ariana Tikao.
