Golden Fleece winners

The National Golden Fleece championships for fine wools have been
taken out by first time winners, Graham and Bev Black of Blenheim.
The winning merino fleece was entered in the class for merino ewes
-- 19.1 to 21 microns -- and was one point short of the perfect score
of 100.
The fleece measured 19.6 micron, with a clean weight of 4.6kgs and
a greasy weight of 6.25kgs. The fleece yield was 75 per cent and the
fleece was valued at $49.91.
The competition for strong wools was won by a leicester ram fleece
