Opponents and supporters of lawyer Donna Hall do not believe her daugh ter's kidnapping is linked to legal chal lenges over Maori fisheries allocation.

Ms Hall has been involved in long- running litigation against the Treaty of Waitangi Fisheries Commission over the allocation of fishing quota, cash, and shares worth about $700 million.

She has fought to have the Maori fisheries assets allo cated to urban Maori as well as iwi, and in recent hui has argued the assets need not be allocated at all. Instead, she has pro posed the com mission retain the assets and pay out dividends to tribal ...
