A judge severely criticized the United Mine Workers today for violating his ban on blocking Pittston Coal Group trucks in sit-down demonstrations.

U.S. District Judge Glen Williams said he will begin ordering strike coordinators and hundreds of miners to appear before him next week to show why they should not be held in contempt.
