Area Girl Scouts earn highest award Teens honored for hard work

Girl Scouts of Buckeye Trails Council presented 17 girls in the Miami Valley the highest award in Scouting March 6.

The girls received the Girl Scout Gold Award, which symbolizes outstanding accomplishments in leadership, community service, career planning and personal development.

The Gold Award project must meet a need in the community, involve others outside of the Girl Scout community and should have some lasting benefit.
