Regarding "'Moral values' debatable," Nov. 5: Mary McCarty complains that some of the media have concluded that moral values was the issue that won the election for President Bush. She notes that "... pollsters didn't specify which moral values were at play here" and then that John Kerry supporters respond, "We have moral values."

Perhaps I can elucidate for Mc-Carty. The primary moral values that influenced me and my friends were valuing the lives of pre-born children and valuing the family and the sanctity of the institution of marriage. Yes, valuing one's self more highly than one's child ...
