All right. Athens this summer has the big fat Greek Olympics and the advertising slogan for the games, `Athens 2004. There's no place like home.'

But Dayton and the Miami Valley are home to some notable Greek architecture.

The Greek Revival style, transforming houses and buildings into classical temples, thrived in America from about 1820 to 1850. It caught on here at about the same time as Europeans were losing interest in favor of the newer Gothic and Italianate revivals.
