DAI brings 'Photographer's Love of Life' to life

DAYTON - He's been immersed in these images, and in the lore of their maker, for nearly five years, and so you might think that Alex Nyerges is a bit bleary-eyed by now, when it comes to Edward Weston. And yet, when asked if he has a favorite among the nearly 100 photographs in the new show he's curated at the Dayton Art Institute, he begins moving toward it without hesitation.

`This is it,' he says, standing before Pelican's Wing, a photograph Weston took on a California beach in 1931. The frame is nearly filled by the black and white slashes ...
