A debate is heating up in the newsmagazines as to whether obesity
is a biological disease or a lack of responsibility. The question,
often asked about addiction, is as silly as wondering whether a steak
knife is an eating utensil or a weapon.
Diseases are not weaknesses, but their presence doesn't suspend
the responsibility of free will. In fact, free will is often a
powerful tool in treating disease.
