QUAIL POPULATION GETS AN ASSIST FROM STATE

Mention "The Blizzard" to anyone who was around in 1978 and they'll know exactly what you are talking about.

They'll tell you stories about how the huge storm paralyzed the country, shutting down just about everything that tried to move in late January.

But as bad as people had it during that storm, wildlife suffered more. In fact, it wiped out about 90 percent of Ohio's northern bobwhite quail population.

Since that time, the Ohio Division of Wildlife has been trying to restore the quail population, a little at a time.
