The recent announcement of the Maryland State Police to become a "highway patrol" instead of a "full service police agency" {Metro, May 1} is not within the best interests of the citizens of Maryland. The Maryland State Police have a long, proud history of serving the citizens of Maryland and have some of the best police officers in the world.
