James Abram Garfield was an interesting fellow.
He was the first left-handed president - though to be fair,
Garfield didn't stop there. It was said that he could write Greek
with one hand and Latin with the other.
Garfield was the first to campaign in two languages, German being
the second.
He was also the last of seven presidents born in a log cabin.
Unfortunately, Garfield's presidency fell short of its high
promise, mostly because the Ohio native was in office only four
months before he was fatally shot by an assassin in 1881.
