ANNIE OAKLEY FESTIVAL AIMS TO ATTRACT 25,000 VISITORS

Commemoration of famed sharpshooter begins Friday
GREENVILLE - A woman known to history as a famed sharpshooter will
be the focus of the 39th annual Annie Oakley Festival, which begins a
three-day run Friday.
Gini Stuckey, spokeswoman for the festival, estimates that 25,000
people will attend the event at the Darke County Fairgrounds in
Greenville.
One sharpshooting young woman will walk away with the Miss Annie
Oakley title this evening, Stuckey said. The final round of
competition begins at 6 p.m. today at the fairgrounds. The girls
