Jury finds man guilty of stabbing

WOOSTER -- Elizabeth Ondo and Jason Messersmith turned to one another and sighed with relief after a verdict of guilty was announced for Jack Southall, accused of stabbing Messersmith in the driveway of Ondo's Apple Creek home late Christmas Eve 2006.

On Friday, the second day of the trial, Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Jodie Schumacher called three additional witnesses -- Ondo's downstairs neighbor and two Wayne County Sheriff's deputies -- to the stand, as well as Ondo and Messersmith once again, to clarify several points raised on Thursday.
