Herschel Walker, in Caribou? Nah!

A few weeks ago a friend in-the-know mentioned that Herschel Walker had been at a Caribou High School basketball game.

Now what in the world, I wondered, would a former college and professional football star be doing in Aroostook County? There must be a new high school basketball referee with the same name as the 1982 Heisman Trophy winner. Or maybe it was one of those rumors that just gets passed around a town. Someone sees someone they think they know and ... well, you know how rumors get started.
