Retired schools chief eyes old job Ellsworth's interim head gets 2 weeks

ELLSWORTH - Compared to normal interim superintendency standards, James Boothby's tenure as the head of Ellsworth's school system will be over in the blink of an eye.

Boothby, 40, started last week as the interim school superintendent in Ellsworth, and by the end of this week, his job will be done.

Many interim superintendents sign six-month or one-year contracts, Boothby said Monday, but his contract in Ellsworth is for only two weeks.

Boothby said that after he leaves Ellsworth he plans to return to his regular position as principal of the elementary Ella P. Burr School in Lincoln. He said ...
