Bowman Skates to Gold, Worlds; Doran Takes Silver Despite Wylie's Fine Routine

Christopher Bowman, a flippant 20-year-old who is disapproved of
by some skating authorities, was too good to deny today as he won the
men's gold medal at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships. But
veteran Olympian Paul Wylie could do no better than the bronze medal
and was thus omitted from the world championship team, in favor of
surprise silver medalist Daniel Doran.
