Concerns and comments from those who have started the initiative to cease discussion of a seaplane base in Lincoln should be taken for what they are: unsubstantiated doom and gloom based on fear, not fact.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers did a study on the impact of proposed seaplane operations on lakes. It stands as one of the few unbiased reports available. It found that seaplanes have little to no environmental impact. And the noise generated by seaplanes lasts only 20 to 60 seconds and is no worse than that of common motorboats.
