I am writing as a member of the Catholic Church to express
outrage regarding the illustration by C. F. Payne, which appeared on
the front page of the Show section Jan. 1, titled "The Last
Judgment."
Whereas The Post may take delight in publishing a mockery of
Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel depiction of the second coming of
Christ, I for one do not appreciate such disrespectful trivialization
of a Renaissance masterpiece that embodies some of the most deeply
profound spiritual values...
