Coach Says Rio Rancho Was Top of His List Worley Eager To Start New Job

The job, as Michael Worley sees it, is not to re-create Artesia. Rio Rancho requires its own broad brush strokes, he said.

"I am looking to improve upon Rio Rancho," Worley said Saturday in an interview with the Journal, one day after Rio Rancho named him as its new head football coach. "I think a lot of people might get caught up in (me) having a good history in Artesia, and I'll certainly bring some of that experience to the table, but this is going to be Rio Rancho football, and we'll do what's best for Rio Rancho and hopefully create our own identity."
