After June 2, students who attend Albuquerque Technical Vocational School will instead be enrolled at Central New Mexico Community College.

The buildings will remain the same, but a new name will reflect the full breadth of the institute.

At least that's the goal of supporters, who narrowly approved the name change of the 40-yearold school.

At a special public hearing Wednesday, both the Governing Board and members of the public were split on the issue.

After listening to two hours of discussion, the board voted 4-3 to adopt the new name.
