For Surprising Severn, Goals Are Within Reach

Before the season, Severn boys' lacrosse coach John Tucker felt
like he and his players were the only ones who expected much out of
his team.
Not only did the Admirals finish 2-9 in the Maryland
Interscholastic Athletic Association last year, but only three
starters returned from that team.
"By this point last year, we were pretty much out of playoff
contention," Tucker said. "This year, well, it has an entirely
different feel to it."
Despite having a young and relatively inexperienced team, Severn
(9-6) has won four of its first five MIAA games and feels it has a
