Dr. Edwin Furber Irish, 81, a retired dentist with the Department of Veterans Affairs, died Nov. 27 of congestive heart failure at Frederick Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Irish, a Frederick resident, was born in Wolfeboro, N.H. After graduating from the Manlius School in Manlius, N.Y., he served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the 10th Armored Division of Gen. George S. Patton's 3rd Army.
