A black belt at 12 for karate kid jade

As a young girl, Jade Bailey took up karate as a way of fighting back against the playground bullies.

Now, just five years later, the 12-year-old has kicked her way to a black belt and set her sights on competing in the 2012 Olympics.

Jade, who is 5ft and weighs 6st, even gives tips to stepdad Jason Lewis, who is 6ft 2in and 21st 2lb, on how to best protect himself.

Her front room in Yate, South Gloucestershire, is overrun with trophies and, having competed in national competitions, she is now aiming even higher.
