Having graduated from seminary at the young and foolish age of 50,
I received a call from my bishop informing me that I was destined for
great things in Dubuque, Iowa. Vague olfactory memories of something
sizzling in the frying pan from Dubuque Pack were as close as I could
come and hesitant inquiries made to friends were not encouraging -
Iowa? Nothing there but pigs and flat (Oh, to push those suckers off
the cliffs of the Great River Road near Balltown!).
