FIVE HUNDRED years after Spanish conquistadors pulled gold and
silver by the shipload out of the New World, Spain is ready to send
some of its bounty back - in the form of gold and silver
commemorative coins.
For the first time since 1905, the Spanish Mint is issuing sets
of precious-metal coins - one series to mark the 500th anniversary
of Christopher Columbus's arrival in the New World and another to
mark the XXV Summer Olympic Games to be held in Barcelona next year.
As with other events marking the Columbus Quincentenary, Spain has
