In 90 years, a lot has changed at Ft. Meade

Ninety years ago, Camp Meade was a humble training post, rush- built to prepare troops for World War I.

Today, the doughboys and their tents are long gone. Fort George G. Meade has evolved into a military campus for scores of military units and defense organizations, most prominently the National Security Agency.

But the installation is poised to leap forward again. It will balloon over the next decade as military base realignment brings thousands of new jobs - along with the homes, shops, schools and roads needed to support them.
