Severn drug sting busts 17

After three months of undercover drug buys and covert operations in Severn, county police have arrested 17 people and charged them with dealing crack.

But after two months of searching, detectives are still looking for another five - three adults and two children - who they say sold them drugs.

"They don't get much larger than this," said Lt. David Waltemeyer, police spokesman. The sting was comparable in size, he said, to the 2004 operation that resulted in the breakup of the so-called "Pioneer City Boys" and the arrest of a man for the shooting of Officer William E. Hicks.
