Wine: Vintage ports are worth the price
|
The Symington family of Premium Port Wines recently declared 2003
a vintage year and that is certainly more exciting than the release
of beaujolais nouveau. But declaring a vintage is more than tradition
- it is a reassuring sign that all is well in this unique wine-
growing region.
We recently visited with Rupert Symington, a third generation in
his family's port business. The family has made port - an invention
of adding brandy to dry wine to help it survive travel to England -
since 1882.
