QA public marinas to boost slip fees

Watermen will be paying up to $250 more this year for slip rentals in Queen Anne's County public marinas.

A one-year slip lease at Kent Narrows and Centreville will cost $600 effective May 1, in one of several reforms approved last week by a special subcommittee of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board. Currently the price is $450 at Kent Narrows and $350 in Centreville.

The board found that the increase was necessary to maintain and upgrade the two marinas. Steven Wilson, head of the special subcomittee, was unavailable for comment.
