After all the joyous hugs and hoisting his coach in the air during the post-game celebration, it took a minute for senior Joe Fontenot to come to grips with what just happened.

"Whoa, we won," Fontenot said to the rest of the Severna Park High School boys basketball team as it sat on the court and changed clothes. "I mean, guys ... we won!"

The possibility of prolonging his season by at least one more game was more than enough motivation for Fontenot as the 6-foot-8 center scored 13 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to lead the Falcons to a 58-45 victory over host Annapolis in the Class 3A ...
