The Rev. Joseph Zrinyi, 72, a Jesuit priest and retired member of the economics faculty of Georgetown University, died of cancer Sept. 23 at the Jesuit community at Georgetown.

Father Zrinyi was born in Hungary and became a novice with the Society of Jesus in Budapest in 1937. He studied philosophy in what is now Kosice, Czechoslovakia, then during World War II was associate editor of two Jesuit magazines in Budapest until they were closed in 1944.
