Georges Seurat: His Finest Points

If you recognize his name, you know he showed with the
Impressionists, and that his most ambitious painting sparked a
Broadway musical, "Sunday in the Park With George," and that he took
that giant canvas, "A Sunday on la Grande Jatte," and sprinkled it
with millions of tiny colored dots. But if that's all you know about
the painter Georges Seurat, whose mighty retrospective opened
yesterday at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, you don't know him at
all.
