"Originality" in choreography may be difficult (impossible?) to
define, but it's relatively easy to spot. Sometimes it smacks you so
hard in the face that the sting of it never leaves.
A case in point is the work of Garth Fagan, whose Rochester,
N.Y.-based troupe, Garth Fagan Dance, performed this past weekend at
Wilde Lake High School at the tail end of the third annual Columbia
Festival of the Arts.
