Henry Hudson: No Breaks, No Regrets; Prosecutor's Tough Record on Crime May Form Basis of His Political Future

U.S. Attorney Henry E. Hudson is leaving a field of casualties
in his wake: dope peddlers who pushed crack to neighborhood kids,
corporate bigwigs who got caught with their hands in the public till
and defense attorneys who got their clocks cleaned.
Hudson's victims and even many former prosecutors say that he
has been "mean-spirited" and "unyielding" during his five years as
chief prosecutor for the eastern half of Virginia. But that suits
him just fine.

hardliner's hardliner who leaves public office next month with hopes
