Farmers urged to get busy at making fields buzz

FARMERS are being urged to plant wild flowers to play their part
in saving the bumblebee from extinction.
Three species of native bumblebee are already extinct and the
number of bumblebees on farms has declined by more than 70 per cent
over the past two decades.
Farmers visiting this year's Great Yorkshire Show will be
encouraged to introduce plots of grasses and wild flower mixtures to
help bring the bumblebee back from the brink.
The show will feature trial plots to show how farmers can plant
field margins to encourage numbers ...
