Joyous reunion for Afghan who can stay in deportation U-turn

A REFUGEE granted last-minute leave to stay in this country only
days before he was to have been deported has been reunited with his
family.
Mohammed Arrian, 34, was to have been sent back to his native
Afghanistan tomorrow in spite of huge protests after it was revealed
his life would have been in danger.
On Friday Government officials did a U-turn over his asylum
status, giving him the right to remain in the United Kingdom
indefinitely.
It meant Mr Arrian, who was at a holding centre in Dover, could be
reunited with his family at their home in Sheffield.
