ECB chief underlines danger of Headingley missing out

THE head of English cricket last night fired a stark warning to Yorkshire bosses by insisting the game's governing body are ready to strip Headingley of Test and one-day international status unless the county complete their proposed [Pounds]12m purchase of the ground by December 31.

. David Collier, chief executive of the England and Wales Cricket Board, spelled out the devastating consequences for Headingley's future as an international venue should Yorkshire fail to finalise the deal by the ECB-imposed deadline.
