THE ROOF leaks, the sound system means raising your voice, and the legroom is a recipe for deep-vein thrombosis.

But from the humblest of homes, Hull Truck Theatre Company has become one of the biggest names in regional theatre.

Now the company, which for the past 20 years has been housed in a converted Methodist church by the city morgue, has taken a big stride towards raising the curtain at its new home.

The theatre company run by playwright John Godber yesterday unveiled the plans for its long-awaited new base.
