EIGHT NEW AGREEMENTS ON MINING FOR GOLD IN WESTERN AND EASTERN DESERTS

Minister of Petroleum Sameh Fahmi announced the start of legal measures for signing eight new agreements on mining for gold following the cabinet approval of those agreements. The agreements resulted from the first international bid put up by Egypt for foreign companies to mine for gold in Egypt. Those agreements will cover an area of 10,000 square kilometers in the Western and Eastern Deserts with investments not less than $33 million.
