George A. Moore, Metallurgist At Bureau of Standards, Dies

George Andrew Moore, 79, a retired metallurgist at the National Bureau of Standards and an authority in the field of stereology, which is the computer analysis of images of metals, died of a heart attack Dec. 27 at Suburban Hospital.

A resident of Rockville, Dr. Moore was born in New York City. He graduated from Union College. He received a master's degree in metallurgical engineering from Harvard University and a doctorate in chemistry and metallurgy from Princeton University.
